Aoteaora New Zealand is a unique country, with a population of just over 5 milllion people.  For those wanting to migrate, overseas students, travellers who want to visit, others who have friends and family in the country or even new arrivals, Aotearoa New Zealand may seem a strange place, a long way from anywhere, at the bottom of the South Pacific.

This magazine-styled blog and shop was launched in January 2023 as a way of helping you to better appreciate the culture and way of life in Aotearoa New Zealand, as well as offering you products and services for your next adventure.

Is this a news site?

​

This magazined-styled blog platform is not a traditional media site, in that we won't cover general Aotearoa New Zealand news of day.  Our focus is on topical issues related to immigration, travel or information for the visiting public and new arrivals, as well as New Zealand expats.  Think of a news and blog hybrid site with articles or podcasts and videos daily.

Can I read all the articles and access podcasts, webinars?

There are several ways you can access our articles and other features:

​

• NO SIGN-IN - You can view articles and products without needing to sign-in or do anything.  However, more than half of the articles require you to be a SUBSCRIBED MEMBER to fully access. You can view and buy any products and read and access about half of the articles and other features.

• FREE MEMBER - log in using an email address or Facebook account to set up an account (no credit card required) to receive regular notifications and updates about new articles, special offers and other services.  Using your FREE MEMBERSHIP account you can set up a Wish List of products and services you might want to access later.  You can see all services you've accessed on your individual account and keep track of products.

• SUBSCRIBED MEMBER - A SUBSCRIBED MEMBER has all the facilities of a FREE MEMBER but can fully access everything on the site, including viewing all articles, videos and listening to all podcasts, participating in webinars, as well as comment on articles.  You'll also be able to activate regular special offers and discounts. You can pay to be a SUBSCRIBED MEMBER monthly, 6-monthly or annually by card, PayPal and AfterPay.

• SUBSCRIBED MEMBERS on1-Year Plan - if you're on one a 1-Year Plan, you'll receive all the benefits of a SUBSCRIBED MEMBER and special travel and accommodation offers regularly. You can pay by card, PayPal and AfterPay.

We've carefully selected products and services aimed at the discerning traveller.  Each partner has different Shipping and Returns Policies, so please read them carefully.  As much as possible we try to offer Free Shipping, but each product and service is different.  Join Up to unlock special offers and discounts.

Single focus

 

You may be wondering about our name.  Matatahi is a Māori term for "selfie" or "one-eyed" and "Confessions from New Zealand " needs no explanation.  We have a single focus on lifting the lid on who we are, promoting Aotearoa New Zealand internationally and welcoming you to our shores.
